The Bootstock Association is a registered Scottish Charity which organise an annual music festival to help fund educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in the poorest and most remote regions of Nepal. We are also the official UK partner of Mitrata Nepal Foundation, a Nepal based NGO which helps underprivileged children and orphans.

A massive thank you to everyone who attended the 2019 Bootstock Festival over the weekend. Huge thanks are due to all the bands and musicians who gave their time entirely for free. There were so many highlights, from the brilliant guitar playing of Bob Irwin, Darren Watt, Andrew Robinson and Liam Ross, to the stunning impromptu set from Far Beyond Trust. The fabulous Dirty Rotters shocked us all (in a good way!), then a brilliant two hour performance by The Low Down provided the perfect end to the weekend.

A special thanks to Mike and the team for providing an excellent sound throughout, and thanks to all the Bootstock crew who made the festival run so smoothly. And finally, thanks to you all for your generous support. We couldn’t do Bootstock without you.

News about the 2020 Bootstock Festival coming soon!

Bootstock On Top Of The World

Bootstock reached a new high point when our great friend Prem Magar reached the summit of Mt Everest in May 2019. Bootstock has supported Prem through school, then helped him achieve the highest mountaineering qualifications in Nepal. He has repaid us by brilliantly managing several of our projects, and has been kind enough to take Bootstock to the very top of the world! Thank you all for your support, and congratulations to Prem.

Cameron McNeish

Author, broadcaster, wilderness hiker, and mountaineer Cameron McNeish is one of the leading authorities on outdoor pursuits in Scotland. Cameron is also a regular visitor to Nepal and has been supporting the Bootstock Association with several projects.

“It’s a great cause and I’m very interested in the work that Bootstock is doing in such a remote part of the world.”
